Sonicwall was the preferred firewall of MFMSP and was deployed to their clients.

Administration

Sonicwalls are administered through the Sonicwall Admin Portal. To access it see ITG Document "made up name for demo purposes."

License Management

Sonicwalls have multiple levels of licensing and support.

Netextender Licenses

Netextender licenses are used to create a VPN to the firewall. Licenses are used during active connections only, so an office with seven users may have only five netextender licenses if there are only five concurrent connections.

Netextender licenses can be migrated from one sonicwall to the next if a client upgrades or replaces their device.

Netextender licenses do not expire.

To order netextender licenses email the smb team at ingram micro with the quantity and part number of licenses you need; the license key will become available within 4 hours.

To apply the netextender licenses, log on to mysonicwall.com, navigate to the client device, click on "licenses," click on "activate licenses" and put the keycode into the activation field then hit submit. Verify that the licenses appear on the firewall then install netextender on the client machine for the connection.

CGSS Licenses

CGSS licenses are necessary for the use of filtering tools. They are device specific, cannot be migrated, and expire after a predetermined term.

To renew a CGSS license get the correct part number from mysonicwall.com, email the IM SMB team, and apply the license the same way you would a netextender license.
